The Hall of Fame Classic is one of the top girls high school tournaments in the state and was played for the 20th year.  Tournament Chairman Rex Maynard, who started the tournament in 1987, had this to say:  "Irmo has been the team to beat three straight years, and they dominated more this year than the previous two.  We had some great matches; many went to the third set tiebreaker.  There was a lot of team spirit, great sportsmanship and excellent tennis.  This should be a great warm up for the playoffs, which start in two weeks.  It was fun having it the same weekend as the Standpipe Festival.  There was a lot going on in town, and a fun atmosphere."  The tournament is sponsored by the South Carolina Tennis Patrons Foundation in honor of the state Hall of Fame, which is located in the Belton Depot, and is funded by contributions from local businesses and individuals.
