January 19, 2011 Meeting
Lion Gloria Eaves was the main speaker at the Belton Lions Club Meeting on Thursday, January 19, 2012. She gave lions the information they needed to begin the Annual Community Birthday Calendar Sales. Lion Bill Eaves gave out the worksheets that will need to be completed for the project. The project will end with the next club meeting on February 16, 2012.
In other club business, Lion President Margaret Edwards gave a summary of the directors meeting and updated the Lions about the District 32-A Convention held recently in Greenville. Nine club members and wives attended the convention. It was announced that five eye exams and five new glasses were approved for those need in December. This brings the total approved to 16 since the fiscal year began in July.
The Belton Lions Club meets every 3rd Thursday of each month at 7:00 pm in the Fellowship Hall at Latimer Memorial United Methodist Church. Visitors and prospective men and women members are welcome.

In April 2006 the Belton Lions Club Sight Committee initiated a change in the procedure for obtaining new eye exam/glasses; whereas the Lions will pay 100% for the first two exam/eye glass requests and 50% on the third request. After an individual has been helped three times, there will be no additional aid provided. As in previous years, the individual must wait three years before requesting another exam/pair of glasses.

- Community Birthday Calendar Sales - Orders for the 57th Edition of the Belton Community
Birthday Calendar will be taken from January 19 - February 16, 2012. The calendars will be
published by the Gordon Bernard Company in Milford, Ohio. The calendars will be delivered
to the members of the Belton Lions Club at the May 17th meeting for distribution to their
customers prior to July 1, 2012.
