Update:  May 30, 2007 from the News-Chronicle

$6,100 has been raised so far for the sign according to Donnie Ray Cooley.  "We appreciate all the donations, but we need about $2,500 more to finish the project," said Cooley.

To:  Former Belton High School Students

The Belton High School Preservation Committee has been given permission from School District Two to erect a sign on the grounds where Belton High was once located.  To make this project successful, we are going to use voluntary help.

Two original pillars from Belton High School, similar to those pictured, will be located at the corner where the former school once stood.  One of the pillars was placed at the school by the class of 1927 and the other in 1929.  These pillars will be used as part of the sign.  After the foundation is in, work will begin on the wording for the sign; and it will be placed between the two pillars.

Donations are needed from former Belton High School Students to buy supplies and materials to complete this project.

Your tax deductible donation is needed in order for us to complete this memorial to the Belton High School Warriors.  Checks should be made payable to Belton High School Preservation Committee and returned to the address at the top of this page.
