After
the 3:00 P.M. Christmas Parade the afternoon activities for children and
adults continued beginning at 5:00 P.M. in Belton on the square with the annual Christmas Tree Lighting in
front of the Belton Depot. Mayor Rufus Callaham & City
Administrator Michelle Ricketson spoke to the crowd, Marshall Primary
Chorus led by Lindsay Morgan sang Christmas Carols, and David Jones
turned on the tree lights.
Santa was there for the children to visit and
have their photo taken with Other activities included crafts for
the children and the Nancy Page Wreath Auction for the adults.

The Belton Children's Christmas Parade was held on Sunday, November 20, 2011 at 3:00 pm on Main
Street. Thousands of
children and
adults were present to see bands playing, floats, cars, etc. including
the annual visit by Santa Claus riding on top of the Belton Fire Truck. People lined both sides of the
street to see the many entries that participate in the parade.
Award winning chili champion Matt
Lusk and family were the Grand Marshalls who led the 2011 Belton
Christmas Parade.
Lineup for the parade took place on North Main Street near the
Belton Farmer's Market at 2:00 pm. Awards were named in categories as listed below.

The sponsors of the parade expressed their
thanks to all participants and volunteers for a great event. They
were especially pleased to have so many churches enter the parade and so
many fantastic floats!
